Brain Games

Free browser games that train memory, attention, speed, logic and mental math — with lab versions of the classic psychology tasks.

Train one skill at a time

Every game here targets a specific cognitive skill and gets harder as you improve — short sessions, instant restarts, no signup. Scores are stored locally in your browser, and every dimension links to the classic laboratory task it comes from.

A note on the science: practicing these tasks makes you better at them, and studies are still examining how far that transfers to everyday thinking. We keep the games honest, show the research behind each task, and never claim medical benefits.

Memory

Span boards, digit runs and chimp-style grids — classic working-memory drills that grow one step harder every round.

Attention & Focus

Task switching, selective counting and color discrimination — practice filtering distraction and holding focus under time pressure.

Reaction & Speed

Reaction ladders, click tests and aiming ranges — short bursts that train processing speed and hand-eye control.

Logic & Problem Solving

Codebreaking, planning and spatial puzzles — deduction games where the answer has to be worked out, not guessed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have another question? Let us know.

What are brain games?

Short, focused games built around cognitive-science tasks — remembering sequences, ignoring distraction, reacting to targets, planning moves. Each one exercises a specific skill like working memory or processing speed, and most get harder as you improve so the challenge never runs out.

Do brain games really work?

Honestly: practicing a task reliably makes you better at that task, and research is still studying how far those gains transfer to general thinking in daily life. We avoid promising miracles. What we can promise is faithful game versions of real psychology tasks, your own measurable progress, and free lab versions with sources so you can see the science yourself.

What is the difference between the games and the lab tasks?

Games are tuned for fun — themed visuals, lives, escalating difficulty. Lab tasks are faithful implementations of the original research paradigms (Stroop, N-back, Corsi blocks and so on), used for a cleaner measurement and a look at the actual science. Both are free, and each dimension above links to its lab cousins.

How long should I train?

Short and regular beats long and rare. A session of about 10 minutes — say the three-game workout at the top of this page — is a good daily habit. Every run is scored, so you can watch your numbers move within a couple of weeks.

How do I track my progress?

Benchmark games feed your ability map: five dimensions (Speed, Attention, Memory, Reasoning, Strategy), each with a current score, personal best and confidence level. Everything is computed and stored locally in your browser — no account, no server, and you can export or clear the data anytime.

Are these brain games free?

Yes — every game and every lab task on this page is completely free, works in the browser on desktop and mobile, and needs no registration or download.
