Privacy Policy for Kuakua - Psychology & AI Tools for Well-Being
Last updated: 2026-10-17
The short version
- You can use almost everything without an account. Test results, trait and ability profiles, and game progress are stored only in your browser and never uploaded to us.
- An account stores only an identity (your email address, plus basic profile fields if you sign in with Google). It is not linked to your test results.
- We use standard third-party analytics and advertising (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Google AdSense) — see Section 4. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first, and you can change your mind at any time — see Section 5.
- For anything else — access, correction, export, or deletion, including account deletion — write to psychology@kuakua.app.
1. What we collect
- Account data (optional): your email address; if you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google shares with us (name, profile identifier, avatar). Used to authenticate you and, for convenience, to pre-fill forms such as the feedback form. Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth.
- Feedback and submissions: if you contact us via the feedback form or submit a site for inclusion, we store the email address and the message/URL you provide.
- Votes: votes and word suggestions are stored without account linkage.
- Server logs: our hosting provider (Vercel) processes standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.
2. What stays on your device
Test results, personality-trait and ability profiles, game saves, and data from our browser extension (reflections, focus sessions, usage statistics) are stored locally in your browser (localStorage/IndexedDB) and are never uploaded to our servers. Clearing your browser data — or the export/clear options inside the product — removes or moves them.
3. Browser extensions
Our official browser extensions exchange no data with kuakua.app beyond opening links to the site. Features you explicitly enable interact with third-party services under their own policies: the weather widget sends your location (with your permission) to OpenWeatherMap; Google and Microsoft task/calendar integrations read and write your own accounts via OAuth; wallpapers come from Bing, NASA, and Pexels. See each store’s privacy notice for details.
4. Analytics and advertising
- Google Analytics — page views and interaction events (for example, which pages and tools are used), retained per Google’s standard settings. Note that page URLs may include encoded result parameters, for instance when a result or share link is opened or refreshed. We never transmit your individual question answers.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymized session analytics such as scrolls, clicks, and session replay. Input fields are masked by default; on-screen content and page URLs may be captured. Governed by Microsoft’s privacy policy.
- Google AdSense — ad serving, including personalized advertising where you have consented to it (see Section 5).
5. Cookies and consent
Where required by law — for example in the EEA and the UK — we ask for your consent before storing or accessing information on your device (such as cookies and similar identifiers) and before serving personalized advertising. We use Google’s consent management platform, which follows the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework; the consent banner lists the purposes and the companies involved.
You can accept, refuse, or customize your choices in the banner shown on your first visit, and change or withdraw them at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer. If you decline, you can still use the site — advertising will be non-personalized and some measurement features may be limited.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the processors named above (Supabase — authentication and database; Vercel — hosting; Google — analytics, advertising, and sign-in; Microsoft — session analytics) and with third parties you explicitly connect (Section 3), plus disclosure where required by law.
7. Retention
- Account data: kept until you ask us to delete your account.
- Feedback and submissions: kept only as long as necessary to process and respond to them; we periodically review and remove entries that are no longer needed.
- Votes: stored without account linkage.
- Analytics: retained per the providers’ standard settings.
8. Your rights
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data — including deletion of your account — at any time by writing to psychology@kuakua.app. We respond within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Children
The Website is not intended for children under 13 (or under any higher minimum age required by your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Security and changes
No transmission or storage is 100% secure. Our approach is to keep as little data as possible, so there is as little as possible to protect. Changes to this policy are posted on this page with an updated date and take effect upon publication.
