How we work
Evidence first
Test and experiment pages cite their sources — the original papers, the scales they are based on, and what the scores mean.
Honest about limitations
Results come with context: what a score can and cannot tell you, and where the science is still being debated.
Free and accessible
No signup, no paywall. Everything runs in the browser, on desktop and mobile, in 30 languages.
Not a diagnostic tool
Kuakua is for education and self-reflection. It does not replace professional assessment, diagnosis, or care.
Why Kuakua exists
Kuakua started with a small moment: a five-year-old playing a Stroop test, giggling every time the word "green" printed in red ink tricked her. Psychology doesn't have to stay locked in textbooks and laboratories — it can be a little game a child can play, laugh at, and learn from.
Most rigorous psychology research never reaches the people it could help: it stays inside papers, written for other researchers. Kuakua's founder, Alex, started this project to build a bridge — turning that research into small tests, experiments and tools that keep you company, coach you, and help you understand yourself.
We don't want to be another productivity app. The goal is not to help you do more things faster, but to see more clearly what is actually worth doing — through rigorous psychology, practical tools, and technology that doesn't overshadow the human.
AI can do many things for you, but it cannot tell you what you truly want to do. AI can free up your time, but it cannot free up your drive.
Take Kuakua with you
The Kuakua browser extension turns every new tab into a small moment of awareness — a psychology question, a focus session, or a one-line reflection. The small pauses add up.
