Random Number Generator 1-10

This tool picks a random number between 1 and 10 — one click, one result, from a range small enough that every value comes up as often as the others over time. No setup, no signup, no reload needed for the next draw.

The range is fixed at 1 through 10, which is what most people actually want: a quick pick, a dice substitute, a tie-breaker.

How to use it

  1. Click generate. A number from 1 to 10 appears immediately.
  2. Click again for a fresh draw. Nothing is cached — each draw is independent.
  3. Open the range settings if you want a different span, like 1-6 for a die or 1-100.

What "random" means for a ten-number range

Each of the ten values has a 10% chance on every draw. That also means short runs of the same number are normal, not a bug — if you draw 7 three times in a row, the tool is behaving correctly. Over a hundred draws you should expect each number to land close to ten times, but not exactly ten.

Set the range, or leave it at 1-10

The default is 1 to 10 because that is the most requested span. If you are replacing a die, set 1-6. If you are running a class poll or a board game, set whatever upper bound your game uses. The tool keeps 1 as the lower bound unless you change it, because "a number from 1 to N" is what nearly every use case looks like.

How to avoid repeats

Turn on no-repeat mode and each drawn number is removed from the pool until the whole range has been used — useful for assigning turns in a game or picking a fair rotation. When the pool empties, the tool tells you and can start a fresh round.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have another question? Let us know.

Is a random number from 1 to 10 really random?

Yes — each of the ten numbers has the same 10% chance on each draw, and draws do not influence each other.

Can I get a number between 0 and 9 or 1 and 100 instead?

Yes. Change the bounds in the range settings, or use the ready-made 1-100 page for the larger span.

Why did the same number come up twice?

Because repeats are allowed by default. Ten values draw from a small pool, so back-to-back duplicates are expected.

Can I pick multiple numbers at once?

Yes, in no-repeat mode you can draw a batch — handy for shuffling a list of ten options.

Does it work without a connection?

Once the page has loaded, the draw happens in your browser, so a lost connection will not stop it.
