Random 4 Digit Number Generator
This tool returns a random 4 digit number in one click. Every number between 0000 and 9999 is equally likely, so there are exactly 10,000 possible results — and no pattern, no repetition bias, and nothing to install.
It handles three jobs that people actually come here for: a single number when you just need one, a batch when you need a list, and a set of unique numbers when two results must never repeat.
How to use it
- Choose how many numbers you need — one, ten, or several hundred.
- Choose whether repeats are allowed.
- Click generate. Copy the list or download it as CSV.
Single number or a whole batch
A single 4 digit number is what most people want for a PIN, a puzzle answer, or a lottery pick. Switch to batch mode when you need a list — giveaway winners, verification test data, seat assignments, or sample IDs. Batch mode returns one number per line so it drops straight into a spreadsheet.
Unique numbers, and what happens when you run out
When you turn repeats off, the tool removes each number from the pool as it is drawn, so you never get a duplicate. The pool is 10,000 numbers, which means it can produce 10,000 unique four-digit values before it is exhausted — the tool tells you if your request would exceed that.
Leading zeros are kept
0073 is a valid result and the tool keeps the leading zeros instead of shortening it to 73. This matters for PINs, ticket numbers, and test fixtures where every value must be exactly four digits long.

Frequently Asked Questions
Have another question? Let us know.
How many 4 digit numbers are there?
10,000 — every combination from 0000 to 9999. Each one has the same chance of appearing.
Is every number equally likely?
Yes. The tool draws from the full range with a uniform random source, so no number is favoured, including ones that look "more random" like 4821 or obvious ones like 1234.
Can I get a 4 digit number with leading zeros?
Yes. 0012 and 0007 are valid outputs and the zeros are preserved.
Can I generate several unique 4 digit numbers?
Yes. Turn repeats off and the tool draws without replacement, up to 10,000 unique values.
Is it free?
Yes, with no account, no limit, and no watermark.
