Frequently Asked Questions

Have another question? Let us know.

What is the difference between Spiderette and Spider?

Spiderette uses only ONE deck (52 cards) vs Spider's TWO decks (104 cards). Spiderette has 7 columns vs Spider's 10, and four foundations instead of eight. It is more compact and faster-paced.

Can I move mixed-suit sequences?

Single cards move onto any card one rank higher regardless of suit, and any descending run moves as a group — suit only matters when a K→A run is collected, which requires one uniform suit.

How many sequences do I need to win?

Four. With 52 cards, that is one full K→A sequence per suit. Running out of moves ends the game in a deadlock — undo or start a new game from there.

How to Play

Spiderette is a single-deck variant of Spider Solitaire, named because it uses a compact layout similar to Spider but with only one deck of 52 cards. Rules: • 7 tableau columns dealt Klondike-style: column 1 gets 1 card, column 7 gets 7 — only the top card starts face-up (28 cards total) • The remaining 24 cards form the stock, dealt in batches: click the stock to deal one face-up card onto every column (7/7/7, then a final 3) • All columns must be non-empty before you can deal • Build descending sequences of the same suit (K→Q→J→...→2→A) • Any single card can move onto a card one rank higher (regardless of suit); any descending run moves as a group, also regardless of suit • Any card can go into an empty column • When you complete a 13-card same-suit sequence from K to A, it is automatically removed • Goal: Remove all 4 complete sequences Strategy: Focus on building same-suit sequences early and uncovering the face-down cards. Do not mix suits unnecessarily — it makes completing sequences much harder.
