The Magic of Creation

Little Alchemy is a simple yet addictive puzzle game where you start with four basic elements: air, water, fire, and earth. Your goal is to combine these elements to discover hundreds of new ones.

Drag elements onto the workspace to combine them. Double-click an element to clone it. Drag elements to the sidebar or click 'Clear Workspace' to clean up.

There are over 700 elements to discover, from simple things like steam and mud, to complex concepts like life, time, and even the universe!

Keep an eye on the Encyclopedia to track your progress and see what you've unlocked.

Science is simply the word we use to describe a method of organizing our curiosity.

Gameplay Guide

Little Alchemy revolves around four core item types and a handful of intuitive interactions. Here is a quick overview of what you will encounter on your journey as a Little Alchemist.

Item Types

• Basic Items — Available from the start (air, earth, fire, water) or unlocked by meeting certain conditions. They are the foundation of every recipe.
• Unlockable Items — Become available only when you discover the right combination. They are unlocked by reaching progress milestones or finding enough related items.
• Final Items — Cannot be combined with anything else. Tapping one on the workspace collects it automatically. You can always revisit them in the Encyclopedia.
• Depleted Items — Start as regular items, but once you have discovered every possible combination for them, they become depleted. Tapping a depleted item removes it from the workspace and the library, but it remains visible in the Encyclopedia.

Operations

• Drag to Combine — Drag any element onto another on the workspace. If a valid recipe exists, the two are consumed and the new element appears in their place.
• Double-click to Duplicate — Double-tap any item on the workspace to make a copy appear on top of the original. No need to scroll back through the library.
• Smart Hints — Click the 💡 button next to the search bar to get a random nudge toward an undiscovered combination using elements you already have.
• Clear Workspace — Click the Clear Workspace button in the bottom-right corner of the workspace to sweep every item away at once.

Encyclopedia & Stats

The Encyclopedia tab lists every element in the game. Toggle the All / Basic / Depleted / Final filters to narrow the list, and tap any unlocked item to see its recipes (how to make it and what it can make). The Stats tab shows your overall discovery progress with quick links to each category.

Hints for Mastering Little Alchemy

• Air, fire, earth and water will lead you to countless discoveries.
• Try mixing items with a copy of themselves — wall + wall will surely result in a house.
• Some items like human or plant will lead to more discoveries than others.
• There is no penalty for exploring. Try any combination that comes to your mind.
• Remember that only two items can be mixed at a time.
• Some items can't be discovered by mixing. You will unlock them when certain progress is reached.
• Try with science in mind! While simplified, most combinations mirror the real world.
• Some items don't mix with anything else. Hide them with a tap to keep the focus on what's important!
