Introduction

The Type A B C D Personality Profile Test is an Exploratory / Inspired self-reflection tool. It draws on three lines of thought: the Type A behavior pattern described by Friedman and Rosenman (1959); the Type C coping style explored by Temoshok (1987), which links emotional suppression and conflict avoidance with stress responses; and the Type D (distressed) personality construct formalized by Denollet (2005), characterized by negative affectivity and social inhibition. Type B is used here as the relaxed, low-urgency counterpart to Type A.

The test contains 28 statements (7 per type) rated on a 5-point agreement scale. Each type yields a score from 7 to 35; the highest score indicates your most characteristic style. Personality is dimensional rather than categorical, so most people show a blend of several types. Treat the result as a mirror for self-reflection, not a label or diagnosis.
