About This Test

The 16 Personality Factors (16PF) questionnaire was developed by Raymond Cattell. It provides a detailed measure of normal personality and can also be used by psychologists, and other mental health professionals, as a clinical instrument to help diagnose psychiatric disorders, as well as help with prognosis and therapy planning. This online version is a brief 32-item educational adaptation for self-reflection — it is not the official 16PF and does not provide clinical diagnosis.

How It Works

You will respond to a series of statements on a scale. There are no right or wrong answers. Try to answer honestly to get the most accurate results describing your personality profile.

The 16 Factors

The test measures factors such as Warmth, Reasoning, Emotional Stability, Dominance, Liveliness, Rule-Consciousness, Social Boldness, Sensitivity, Vigilance, Abstractedness, Privateness, Apprehension, Openness to Change, Self-Reliance, Perfectionism, and Tension.
