Tic-Tac-Toe (3 Pieces) Game

Strategy and Tips

Control the center of the board early. During placement, favor squares that create multiple winning lines at once.

During the move phase, remember the placement order of your pieces and plan how each move changes your threats.

Watch both players' line potential — a single move can both create your line and block your opponent's.

About This Variant

This game is the 3-piece Tic-Tac-Toe variant (also known as simplified Three Men's Morris). Each player has exactly 3 pieces — place all three, then move them in rotation.

After all 6 pieces are placed, no more pieces can be added. Players move their pieces one by one in placement order, sliding to any empty square.

Since every empty square is a legal destination, the game can continue indefinitely — if the same position appears three times, it is declared a draw.
