SineRider

Type equations to shape a sledder’s path and clear goals. Free, open‑source, and playable in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have another question? Let us know.

How do I play?

Press Play, enter an equation (e.g., y = -20, y = -x - 2, y = -x^2 - 15, y = 3*sin(x)), and watch the sledder ride your graph to hit goals. Adjust parameters until you clear the level.

Does it teach math?

Yes—by experimentation. You’ll build intuition for slopes, intercepts, curvature, and periodicity while seeing how equations shape motion and timing.

Is it free/open‑source?

Yes. It’s free to play and open‑source (AGPL‑3.0). You can contribute art, code, music, and puzzles on GitHub.

What devices are supported?

Modern desktop and mobile browsers. No download required.

About SineRider

SineRider is a puzzle about love and graphing. You write equations (lines, parabolas, waves) to draw a curve. A sledder rides your graph to pass targets by sliding, landing, and staying. It’s creative, visual, and teaches math intuition naturally.

Originally a Unity web game, SineRider was resurrected by Hack Club teenagers and rebuilt in open‑source HTML/JS/CSS. Each level can be solved in many ways: straight lines for quick drops, quadratics for bowls, sinusoids for valleys. You’ll see how parameters change the shape and timing—learning algebra/trig via play.

Great for students, teachers, and self‑learners who want hands‑on graphing intuition. Practice algebra, functions, and trigonometry; visualize motion and constraints; enjoy a chill art‑and‑math vibe. Free to play, open‑source to explore.
