Monte Carlo Solitaire

A relaxing matching game! Click two adjacent cards (including diagonals) of the same rank to remove them. After each pair, remaining cards slide toward the top-left and the stock deals to restore the full layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have another question? Let us know.

Which cards can be paired?

Any two cards of the same rank that sit next to each other — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Suits don't matter (7♥ pairs with 7♠). Card values do not need to add up to 13, and Kings cannot be removed alone.

What happens when I remove cards?

Right after each pair is removed, the remaining cards slide toward the top-left to compact the layout, and the stock immediately deals to restore the full 25-card board. If the stock is empty, those spots stay empty.

Can I win every time?

No — Monte Carlo involves real luck. A good game removes 10–15 pairs; clearing all 25 cards is rare but possible.

How to Play

Monte Carlo is a casual matching solitaire. No complex rules — just find matching neighbors! Rules: - 25 cards are dealt face-up into a 5×5 grid - The remaining 27 cards form the stock - Click two cards of the same rank that are adjacent — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — to remove them (suits don't matter) - Each time a pair is removed, the remaining cards immediately slide toward the top-left to compact the layout, and cards from the stock are dealt to restore the full 25-card board; once the stock is empty, gaps stay empty - Each pair scores 2 points — win by clearing the entire grid - When no adjacent same-rank pairs remain, the round is over — deal a new game Strategy: Scan every row and both diagonal directions before making a move. Removing a pair triggers a refill and creates new adjacencies, so plan the order of your removals to keep matching opportunities open.
