Frequently Asked Questions

Have another question? Let us know.

How is this different from Yukon?

Yukon lets you move face-up cards together with everything beneath them, sequence or not. King Albert moves strictly one card at a time, which makes every choice sharper. This layout also adds a 7-card reserve of instantly playable spares and allows any card — not just Kings — into an empty column.

Can I move cards between reserve slots?

There is no need to — each of the 7 reserve cards is a single, always-playable card. Move any of them straight to the tableau or to a foundation.

Is the game winnable?

Most deals are winnable with careful planning. Since all 52 cards are visible from the start, work the tall columns first and keep alternating-color chains long.

How to Play

This open-information solitaire puts everything on the table from the start: no stock, no waste, and no hidden cards. Layout: • 9 tableau columns dealt face-up — 9 cards in the first column down to 1 card in the ninth (45 cards total) • Reserve: 7 extra face-up cards kept beside the tableau, playable at any time • 4 foundations, built up by suit from Ace to King Rules: • Tableau: Build down in alternating colors (red on black, black on red) • One card at a time — only the top card of each column (and each reserve slot) is playable • Any card may be placed into an empty tableau column • Reserve cards are single cards — move them to the tableau or foundations whenever they help Strategy: With every card visible, planning beats luck. Dig into the tall columns early, keep low cards flowing to the foundations, and save your reserve cards for the moments when a single missing rank blocks an entire column.
