What is a contract?
A contract is the target established during bidding, including the level and trump suit. The level indicates the number of tricks needed (level + 6).
What are trumps?
Trumps are cards of the suit determined during bidding. Trumps can beat cards of other suits. No Trump contracts have no trumps.
What is dummy?
Dummy is the declarer's partner. After the opening lead, dummy's hand is revealed and played by the declarer.
How is scoring calculated?
Making the contract scores points, undertricks (failing to make contract) cost points. The trump suit and level determine the base score, doubled and redoubled contracts multiply the score.
