Personal Charisma Test

Charisma is not a mystical gift. Decades of research on how we perceive each other keep finding the same ingredients: warmth, competence, and presence — all of them behaviours, and all of them practisable.

This free charisma test maps how you likely land on other people: 18 everyday behaviours across warmth, competence and presence. About 5 minutes.

You will get a "first impression map" — which of four impressions you probably leave, and what to adjust if it is not the one you want.

The two dimensions that run the world

When people meet someone new, they answer two questions fast: how warm is this person (friend or foe), and how competent (can they act on their intent). Susan Fiske's research found these two judgements explain the bulk of first impressions across cultures.

The order matters: warmth is judged first. A highly competent stranger is read as impressive until proven warm — and as threatening until proven otherwise.

How to move on the map

Warmth moves through attention signals: remembering names and details, asking second questions, protecting people's dignity in public. Competence moves through reliability signals: clear explanations, kept promises, calm under fire.

Pick one signal per week, not a personality overhaul. First impressions are rebuilt the way they were made — many small moments, repeated.

This test is for educational and self-reflection purposes only. It is not a diagnostic tool. If you are experiencing mental health concerns, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.
