About this scale
The BHPS is an 11-item self-report screening measure developed by Ferguson and Negy (2014) to assess traits associated with histrionic personality patterns, such as attention seeking, flirtatiousness, and emotional expressiveness. Each item is rated from never true to always true, giving a total score between 11 and 44. A higher score indicates more pronounced features; it does not by itself indicate a personality disorder. Results are intended for education and self-reflection, not diagnosis.
