How to Play
1. Set the number of players (3-15), spies, optional whiteboard, and description time limit 2. The system randomly selects a pair of similar words, assigns roles, and deals words by passing the device 3. Each player views their own word in turn; whiteboard players have no word 4. After all players have viewed their words, enter multiple rounds of discussion 5. In each round, each surviving player describes their word (timed), then votes anonymously 6. The player with the most votes is eliminated; ties trigger a runoff vote 7. Civilians win when all spies are eliminated; spies win when 2 or fewer players remain or spies outnumber civilians 8. If there is a whiteboard, they may guess the civilian word at the end — a correct guess wins the whiteboard the game
Tips
• Civilians should describe clearly but not too obviously, to prevent spies from guessing your word • Spies should mimic civilians but avoid being too specific • Whiteboards should listen carefully and find common clues to guess the word • Observe whose description deviates from the majority when voting • First round usually has limited info, consider voting conservatively

Does this game need internet?
The game page works offline after loading. Word data is cached on first load. Suitable for parties, team building, classrooms and other offline scenarios.
What is the whiteboard role?
Whiteboard is a special role with no word. The whiteboard player infers the civilian word by listening to others' descriptions. At the end, the whiteboard may guess the civilian word — a correct guess wins the whiteboard the game. Requires 5+ players to enable.
How does it prevent peeking?
The dealing phase uses pass-and-view mode: each player views their word in turn, words are hidden by default and require active tapping. After viewing, click 'I've memorized it' to hide and pass to the next player, preventing residual words from being peeked.
Is voting anonymous?
Yes. Each player votes in turn on the device, the voting interface doesn't show who they voted for. Vote tallies are only shown after all players have voted, protecting voting privacy.
How are ties handled?
On the first tie, tied players enter a runoff vote where other players can only vote for tied players. If the second vote is still tied, no one is eliminated this round and the game proceeds to the next round.
Can I customize words?
The current version includes 90+ preset English word pairs covering fruits, drinks, appliances, instruments, jobs, animals, nature and other common categories, with localized word pairs available in 32 languages. Future versions will support custom words.
