Color Wheel Working Memory

Frequently Asked Questions

Have another question? Let us know.

Overview

Remember a briefly presented color and reproduce it on a wheel; angular error and precision are computed.

How to operate

After the target color briefly appears, move the slider to select your response and submit. Metrics are aggregated across trials.

Reported metrics

Mean absolute error and error SD, plus per‑trial target/response/error records.

About this experiment

This experiment tests the precision of visual working memory. You need to remember and indicate colors on the wheel as accurately as possible.

How to Play

  • Observe the color block shown on the screen.
  • Remember its color.
  • After the block disappears, click on the color wheel where you think the color was.
  • Match the original color as accurately as possible.
