How to use the unit converter
- Pick a category such as length, weight or temperature.
- Type the value you want to convert (both 1.5 and 1,5 work as decimals).
- Choose the unit you are converting from and the unit you are converting to.
- Read the result above, or use the table below to see the value in every unit of the category at once. The swap button reverses the direction instantly.

About this unit converter
This converter covers eight everyday measurement categories with the units people actually search for: metric and US customary units for length, weight and volume; degrees Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin for temperature; both decimal (KB, MB, GB) and binary (KiB, MiB, GiB) data units; and common time units. Conversions use standard international definitions — for example, one inch is exactly 2.54 centimeters and one pound is exactly 0.45359237 kilograms.
What it does
- Eight categories: length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, data (decimal and binary) and time.
- Live conversion as you type, with a swap button to reverse direction.
- A reference table showing your value in every unit of the category, with each unit's full name.
- Locale-aware number formatting, including comma decimal separators.
- Works offline in your browser once the page has loaded — no account needed.
The conversion math runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.

Which units can I convert between?
Eight categories: length (mm, cm, m, km, in, ft, yd, mi), weight (mg, g, kg, t, oz, lb, st), temperature (°C, °F, K), volume (ml, L, m³ and US teaspoons, tablespoons, fluid ounces, cups, pints, quarts, gallons), area (cm², m², ha, km², ft², ac, mi²), speed (m/s, km/h, mph, kn, ft/s), data (decimal B, KB, MB, GB, TB and binary KiB, MiB, GiB, TiB) and time (ms, s, min, h, d, wk).
How accurate are the results?
Conversions use exact standard definitions where they exist (1 inch = 2.54 cm, 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg, 1 US gallon = 3.785411784 L) and results are rounded to 8 significant digits to keep the display readable. For everyday purposes the precision is far beyond what you need; for surveying or lab work, use calibrated instruments and professional software.
Are the gallons and ounces US or Imperial?
US customary units. A US gallon is 3.785 liters while the Imperial (UK) gallon is about 4.546 liters — around 20% larger. The same applies to pints, quarts and fluid ounces. If you are following a British recipe, double-check which system it uses.
What is the difference between KB and KiB?
Two conventions for counting bytes coexist. Decimal units (KB, MB, GB, TB) step by 1000 — 1 GB = 1000 MB — and this is how storage manufacturers label drives. Binary units (KiB, MiB, GiB, TiB) step by 1024, which is how operating systems traditionally measure memory and file sizes. That mismatch is why a '1 TB' drive can appear smaller in your file manager. This converter offers both families side by side, so pick the unit whose convention matches your question.
How does temperature conversion work?
Temperature scales have different zero points, so they need more than a multiplication factor: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32, and K = °C + 273.15. The converter applies these offsets automatically — for example, −40 is the point where Fahrenheit and Celsius read the same.
