Is the computer opponent random, or does it learn my patterns?

It is a fair random opponent: every round the computer draws rock, paper or scissors with exactly 1/3 probability, independent of your choice and of previous rounds. There is no pattern detection or adaptive AI to outsmart.

Can a strategy beat it in the long run?

No. Against uniform random play, every strategy — including the Win-Stay Lose-Shift heuristics people often cite — wins about a third of rounds on average. Streaks happen by chance, not because the computer is reading you.

Does the scoreboard remember my wins and losses?

No. Wins, losses, draws and the win-rate bar live in the current tab's memory; refreshing the page or tapping Reset clears them. Nothing about your games is uploaded or stored.

Why does the computer's hand keep changing before the reveal?

That is a short shuffle animation cycling random hands for about a second. The actual move is one final random draw when the animation stops, so the theatrics do not change the odds.
